This story has long been a favourite of mine. I have always loved that it can be read as a story or sung as a song. It is engaging, fun and my students thoroughly enjoy it. The use of onomatopoeia is fabulous! It’s a great book to use as a story board for sequencing projects and it is easily used in switch programs as well.

This is a beautiful bed time story of a daddy bear and his baby bear who cannot sleep. I think any young person would thoroughly enjoy it (and I think mum’s and dad’s will enjoy reading it too!)
Below I have included a template that I have drew and also some links to animated/audio versions of the book.

‘Bear and Chook by the Sea’ is a tale of two friends who go on a short holiday to the sea shore. It is beautifully written with sweet illustrations. There is a lot of a repetitious phrases which makes it easy for kids to sequence and remember.
