Book Week

Well we did it! Go team Karonga! I really want to do a massive shout out to our teacher librarian/history buff/AP/amazing… wow! Today was a beautiful celebration of all things literacy. It was incredible. Each student was able to celebrate in a way that was meaningful, dignified, fun, age appropriate, and enjoyable. The theme this year was ‘Escape to Everywhere’. Janelle you took us around the globe and into magical realms. As a fellow book lover I am always excited to share stories and books with my friends, students, and of course I like to escape to everywhere too. I love book Week and this was the best one yet. Congratulations beautiful Janelle!

Today our beautiful Tahlia (a regular volunteer and friend) returned to school after surgery.. just in time for Book Week! Thank you so much for taking the time to join us before rushing off to uni. We loved having you there for our special day and so glad you’re feeling better!!

Thank you also to the wonderful Lowenna who came today as a volunteer to take photos of our students and to take part in the staff play. You’re such a generous soul and the photographs you took are amazing! I’ll be adding a few of our stuff photos to the album in the next few days. Thank you for helping to make the day so successful.

I’ll add more photos over the next few days. Our class book was The Secret Garden.

My class and I dressed as gardeners from this book.

Happy Hump Day

Woohoo! Happy hump day from my work sister! Love my Kamaldeep – truly grateful to work along side you 💕💕💕Thank you beautiful Liza for my little bunny 🐰 so cute x so thoughtful of you 💕
Post crossfit.. love the skin you’re in!! My muscles are tired but my skin feels great! But in love with the coffee body scrub/face mask by Lush. So grateful that there was enough left in the tub for one last scrub.

Science Week

Loving our multi media minibeasts artwork that we have been creating this week. Some pieces were completed on Monday with an incursion visit from the Field of Mars, and some were completed today. It was a lot of fun and my students enjoyed the hands on process. This beautiful artwork is made with real blossoms! My students sourced these blossoms from our school grade and with the help of our gardening expert Pressed the flowers. Today the flowers were dry enough to add to our artwork.

Friday Fun

After such a crazy week I was very naughty and alas, forgot to write my ‘attitude of gratitude’ post for Friday. A staff member set up this fun game to bring joy and happiness to our staff. I’m grateful to work with such generous people.

Classroom Draws

Pretty sure this is something that anyone working in a school understands.. every classroom has a secret draw.. but the dividers are a new idea.. if it was more hygienic I think it would take off in our school 😂

Plants and Seeds

It’s been a very busy term so far.. so many projects underway! More to come in the next few days! This term we are learning all about plants and seeds. Today our gorgeous Tahlia came back to visit us after her travels through Asia. She bought us such thoughtful, beautiful gifts.. including this amazing fabric lantern! We are truly blessed to have Tahlia as a regular volunteer in our room. Glad you’ve arrived home safely.

Smile!

Today we had a surprise ‘smile’ themed celebration in honour of surviving week 1… think all things yellow, a staff sing along, smiley faces, and lollies. Go team!
