Dragonflies and Luna Moths

Today we made beautiful stained glass dragonflies. They’re so simple to make and really effective. Great for kids with vision impairment. Luna moths! These beautiful creatures now grace the walls of our classroom. The kids did a great job – needless to say they’re Eric Carle inspired.

Frogs in the Pond

I love how this artwork turned out! Looking forward to hand it up in our classroom on Monday. The kids enjoyed painting the frogs.. and a big shout out to Suzie for cutting out all of the frogs.

Charlotte’s Web

Today we enjoyed reading Charlotte’s Web. I love sharing stories with my class. This is a book that I’ve always enjoyed and it was magical to see my students respond to the book in the same way that I did. Then it was time to create an artwork based on the story.

Tiny Lady Bugs

I love this artwork that we finished today.. look closely at the cute little lady bugs walking across the leaves. My students painted a whole page green.. I then cut it into leaf shapes and then they glued on the lady bugs. This was then pasted into the plants (which I quickly painted) and we are done! Very cute!

Spider Web Art đź•¸đź•·

Today we had fun with this spider web activity. I drew a web using a candle.. so my students didn’t know it was there. Then we painted over the wax and suddenly the web appeared. My students loved it. The look of surprise on their faces was beautiful. It’s why I love teaching.. bringing joy to some special kids also brings joy to my heart.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

How cute are these artworks based on the famous book ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. The students had fun learning about caterpillars and we were lucky enough to have a real caterpillar to look at today! Thank you to our resident garden expert (Jennifer) for delivering a very cute little caterpillar to our room. Note: no caterpillars were hurt. #chloesclassroom #specialeducation #anorchidsview #ericcarle @worldericcarle #theveryhungrycaterpillar

Flamingos

Did you know that flamingos can be found in the Amazon? I was super excited to learn this because it meant that my class could make pretty pink flamingos to decorate our classroom. It was a very busy day in our room but we had an absolute ball. Very grateful to have Suzie and Kami keeping everything running smoothly. Love our little class fam bam – looking forward to seeing our fourth fam member Tahlia tomorrow đź’• #anorchidsview #chloesclassroom #flamingo #gratefulđź’– Sone more flamingos.. maybe I got a little bit excited? #flamingo #chloesclassroom #anorchidsview
