This is a Disney classic. Growing up I wished I was a mermaid so that I could explore the ocean just like Ariel. It is still a favourite of mine – after all this time – and now it is also a favourite of my students. They enjoy the brightly coloured animations, the songs and the music, and of course the story of young love.

This is a beautiful story and movie. It is one of my favourites. The songs are magical, the animations are vibrant and the tale is engaging. My students adore this film and the story books that go with it.

My nephew who just turned one, adores this story. I found it an amusing movie and my students have also enjoyed watching it during their break times. We have read the Disney Story Book of this tale as well – it is fun. I think they mainly enjoy my silly voices and pretend growls! (lots of giggles, but maybe at me lol)

This film isn’t one of my all time favourites – I am not sure why. My students are not overly interested in it either. I guess it isn’t as exciting and the music isn’t as boppy and upbeat as some of the more recent releases. It is still a beautiful tale though. I have included a template that I drew that can be used for art and craft lessons and also a link to an audiobook of the story.
